The Health Centre Administration is pleased to announce that we’re able to retain the following personnel to provide services for Community Members: Physician, Nurse, Therapist, Reflexologist, Chiropractor, Dental Hygienist, and more. Funding for our staff and services is provided by the First Nations Health Authority and the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

Mental Health and wellness:
One key objective of the mental health program is to increase awareness regarding the importance of mental health and care in the community. Many people with mental illnesses do not receive proper care due to perceived barriers and negative stigma surrounding mental health disorders. If you or a loved one in the community are struggling with mental wellness or trauma, we urge you to seek help by making an appointment at the Health Centre. Equally important, the Health Centre also provides aid community members struggling with alcohol or substance abuse, strengthening family relationships, and helping families address the underlying causes of poor mental health.
Maintaining high levels of mental wellness is one of our primary concerns at the Health Center, which is why we have the following practitioners and services available to community members at our Health Center:
Group Counselling (2hr/week)
Kwumut Le Lum Child Wellness Worker (1 day/week)
Mental Wellness Counselor (2 half days/week)
Therapist (1 day/week)

24/7 crisis lines

Primary health Care
The goal of our Primary Health Care Initiatives is to ensure that community members have equal opportunity access to the Health Care and Treatment that they require. In order to provide such care, the following practitioners are available for community member’s access at the Health Centre:
Physician (1.5 days/week)
Nurse (3 days/week)
Foot Care Specialist (2 days/month *with referral)
Reflexologist (1 day/week)
Acupuncturist (1 day/month)
Community Health Nurse (full-time)
Home / Community Care (full-time)
Maternal Health Nurse (full-time)
Personal Trainer (2 days/week)
Sports Injury Rehabilitation (2 days/week)

Communicable Disease control & prevention
The primary goal of this program is to increase awareness in the community about common communicable diseases and provide access to informational pamphlets and guides on how you can keep yourself healthy. For more information please see our Communicable Disease Resource Page.
Transportation for medical Appointments
Important note for those who need assistance with transportation to out of town appointments: As soon as you are aware of the date of your appointment, we strongly encourage you to fill out a Request Form for out of town appointments so that we can begin the approval process as soon as possible.
There is not a set budget for patient / elder transportation, as such, we cannot guarantee that everyone will receive assistance with travel, so it is imperative that those needing assistance fill out a Medical Travel Request Form as soon as possible. If you require further information on patient travel, please phone or set up an appointment at the Health Centre for further consultation.
monthly Elders Luncheon
Following Coast Salish traditions of honouring our elders, we host a monthly luncheon at the Health Centre which is open to all community elders who wish to attend. There is not a specified monthly date for the event; however, once available, the chosen date for the luncheon will be announced through the Community Calendar, newsletter, and Facebook.
